Also, I died when the Moroha and Setsu were rolling Takechiyo down that hill. Riku is quickly becoming my favorite character next to Setsuna, I'm sure they'll develop him more this season and I'm stoked.

Probably because it had little crumbs of plot and character development. MotW eps usually aren't my favorite but I enjoyed this one. I really liked this episode! I was expecting it to be a super out of place MotW like some last season but they did a great job! I'm sure most of us don't want to get burned again this season but I'm cautiously optimistic so far.
It does not suit Asian-Pacific polytheistic and nature-worshipping traditions. I dislike the concept that once a spirit has turned vengeful, they must always be killed/defeated. That's more dignified than cases like the daiyokai Hoshiyomi in the OG anime. Maybe she will transform again and meet her lover in another realm/era. I'm also happy that the snake woman/Umihebionna chooses to end things on her own will. In a way, Riku can be considered a reborn Kirinmaru. I guess the matter of reincarnation is not the same in the youkai world either. In a way, they probably don't really die. The way Housenki lingered in Toga's tomb (it was still the borderzone between Life and Death), it seems youkai, especially powerful ones, can determine their way. It seems a youkai's death is different from human's death. In the OG series, the Hiraikotsu still carried the souls of demons whose bones formed the weapon, and these demons could still decide whether they continued to help Sango or not. We've seen that some youkai like the cat demon or Tokotsu, even when they "died", could be revived quite easily if someone gave power to their remains. I like the episode and the concept that youkai can actually transform themselves into a new living form when they are killed.
Moroha and her bounty hunting adventures also fills me up with giggles! I hope she gets her due bounty soon! Riku and Towa’s relationship is cementing due to mutual acknowledgment of caring for each other, though it’s still unclear if Riku has romantic intentions or not. Rin which demonstrates that she’s very well-mannered and acknowledges that she doesn’t really know her to call her haha-ue just yet. Towa is beyond adorable - mirrored sunglasses, how creatively genius! She also calls her mother Ms. Her commands to her elder sister are just like her father’s no-nonsense personality although she’s warmer post-resurrection (mostly because she knows Towa literally went through Hell to get her life restored).

Together, they must set aside their differences and work together to find the power granting shards spread across feudal Japan and deal with the threats that arise.Wow! This week’s episode was not just filler or monster-of-the-week trope: we have a glimpse of what Setsuna’s Yukari no Tachikiri blade does and it’s a beautiful sight (she can see strings of fate and cut through timeframes). Joining Kagome and Inuyasha on their quest are the orphan fox-demon Shippo, the intelligent monk Miroku, and the lethal demon slayer Sango. Instead of hitting the bottom of the well, Kagome ends up 500 years in the past during Japan’s violent Sengoku period with the demon’s true target, a wish-granting jewel called the Shikon Jewel, reborn inside of her.Īfter a battle with a revived demon accidentally causes the sacred jewel to shatter, Kagome enlists the help of a young hybrid dog-demon/human named Inuyasha to help her collect the shards and prevent them from falling into the wrong hands. Synopsis: Based on the Shogakukan award-winning manga of the same name, InuYasha follows Kagome Higurashi, a fifteen-year-old girl whose normal life ends when a demon drags her into a cursed well on the grounds of her family’s Shinto shrine.
